Welcome To My Home Page

Hi ,  I am Jim Duell and as a avid woodworker I have been putting together some neat looking birdhouses and feeders. On my photos page you can see some of the different products for the outdoors that I make and sell. If there is a special feeder or birdhouse that you would like built just e-mail me on what you are looking for.

SOLAR POWERED LIGHTHOUSE

This Birdhouse was the first one that I built from scratch. Using 5/8" birch plywood I cut out a normal style house and put in 1" holes instead of windows. I added a red front door and a pair of steps. I put a telescoping flagpole in the front yard with an American Flag flying in the breeze. For the roof I put a 12" hinge between the two roofs to allow the birdhouse to be opened for adding food during the season. I fastened a 12" X 20" board to the bottom for some support. I made the lighthouse out of roofing tin and a 3" circle and a 5" circle and rolled the aluminum to fit each circle and riveted it all together in a cone shaped structure. I added some stripping and a solar powered light on top. Works for me. Had a lot of great compleninents on it while sitting it in the yard on the weekends.

HOLLAND LIGHTHOUSE BIRDHOUSE

Really enjoying lighthouses I decided to build 3 new birdhouses with a solar power lighthouse. Checking through all my different lighthouse pictures I came up with 3 totally different styles. Spending about a full weekend each I started with the Holland Lighthouse that is in Holland, Michigan and is on Black Lake off of Lake Michigan. This is a big red beautiful lighthouse and real easy to build. Using 1 sheet of 2' X 4' X 5/8" Birch Plywood and a sheet of 2' X 2' X 1/4" Birch Plywood for making all the roof.
